Want a fun way to bring quantum science to your classroom? Sandia Labs, Career Connected Learning@APS, Computer Science Alliance, Explora, and other community members have teamed up to bring QuanTime to New Mexico the week of February 8-14, encouraging you to get entangled for Valentine’s Day!

QuanTime is an initiative to bring fun, bite-sized quantum activities to K-12 classrooms across the US. Developed by the National Q12 Education Partnership, QuanTime boasts a repository of activities designed by teachers for teachers, with lesson plans, materials lists, etc, modeled after Hour-of-Code to fit within a 45-60 minute class. To celebrate the 2025 International Year of Quantum, we’re spreading the word to bring QuanTime to classrooms right here in New Mexico!

There are two ways to get involved – let us know your plans here.

  1. We’re planning a kickoff event at Explora on Saturday, February 8 from 10am – 2pm where quantum researchers and educators will lead activities and demos for the quantum curious of all ages. Please share and plan to attend! (flyer attached) Students, teachers, families, and community members are all welcome!

  2. Consider implementing an activity in your classroom during the week of February 10 – 14th. Don’t worry – we have short professional development sessions planned later this month to get you up to speed, along with teacher guides and kits to make sure you have the resources you need. We even have some funding to support your time! To request kits and stay in the loop about PD sessions, please fill out this form.

Also, we have funding to provide you with materials and to compensate you for your time (up to $150/teacher).
